(א) ליצור מעורבות, השפעה וקידום השיח הציבורי בסוגיות של בטחון לאומי במדינת ישראל.
(ב) לרתום את רשת הבוגרים ליצירת מעורבות פעילה לחיזוק נקודות חולשה בחברה הישראלית.
(ג) ליזום, לפתח ולקיים קשרים בין בוגרי המב''ל, סיוע ולמידה הדדיים ומסגרת חברתית תרבותית בין חברי העמותה.
(ד) לשתף פעולה עם המכללה לבטחון לאומי בהשגת מטרותיה לרבות מיצובה והשפעתה על תחומי הבטחון הלאומי בישראל.
(ה) לקיים קשרים ושיתוף פעולה עם גופים אחרים הפעילים בתחום הבטחון הלאומי בישראל ועם
עמותות בוגרים מקבילות בחו''ל.
(ו) להנציח את בוגרי המב''ל שנפלו בעת שירותם או שנפטרו.
